WILTON, CT – A 40-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly extorting money from a juvenile through social media, according to the Wilton Police Department.

Authorities say that on May 16, 2024, a juvenile victim reported being targeted by Angelique Jimenez on a popular social media platform. Jimenez allegedly friended the victim online and later demanded money. The victim complied and sent her the funds.

Following an investigation, police arrested Jimenez on March 10, 2025, at a New York correctional facility. She has been charged with first-degree larceny and has waived extradition to Connecticut.

Jimenez is currently being held on a $40,000 bond as authorities continue their investigation.
