WASHINGTON, D.C. — Angel Enrique Suncar, 31, and Tristan Miles Ware, 25, both of Washington, D.C., were sentenced today for their involvement in a drug trafficking organization tied to the Kennedy Street Crew (KDY), according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
Suncar, a twice-convicted felon known as “Coqui,” was sentenced to five years in federal prison for possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. He had been actively involved in selling marijuana and crack cocaine while armed with firearms to facilitate his criminal activity. U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell also sentenced him to five years of supervised release.
Ware, known as “Greedy,” pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute over 100 kilograms of marijuana and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense. He was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
Court documents revealed that members of the Kennedy Street Crew operated open-air drug markets in Washington, D.C. Suncar was often present in the KDY-controlled market, where law enforcement gathered evidence linking him to drug trafficking activities. In a coordinated arrest operation on June 27, 2023, across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and D.C., authorities seized baggies of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and cash from Suncar’s residence.
