HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Andrew Isaac Griffin, 32, has been arrested in Hawaii in connection with the 2021 double homicide of Angela and Thomas Strussion in Belmont, Ohio. Griffin, who is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, was taken into custody on Tuesday, February 18, after a years-long investigation.
Emergency crews had responded to a house fire in Belmont on September 21, 2021, where they discovered the bodies of the couple. It was determined that the Strussions had been murdered before the fire was set to destroy evidence. According to the FBI, Thomas Strussion owned two restaurants, and Griffin was reportedly a business partner in one of them.
Griffin is currently being held with no bail in Hilo, Hawaii, and appeared in court on Thursday morning. His arrest followed extensive collaboration between the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office and multiple law enforcement agencies across the country.
