BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) — The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 31-year-old Andres Eloy Martinez Perez in connection with the death of Gaudy Garcia Pina, whose remains were found on September 24 in Boulder County.
The Sheriff’s Office initially struggled to identify the body discovered in the 1000 block of Blue Mountain Road. However, with assistance from the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, they were able to determine the victim’s approximate age, physical characteristics, and ultimately identified her using DNA from a family member. The victim was confirmed to be 37-year-old Gaudy Garcia Pina, a Venezuelan citizen residing in Denver.
Pina had been reported missing from Denver on July 15. After further investigation, the suspect, Perez, was interviewed and arrested on Friday. Perez and Pina were reportedly in a relationship at the time of her disappearance.
Perez has been charged with first-degree murder and domestic violence. He is currently being held at the Boulder County Jail.
