Amritsar Police Arrest Surjit Singh for Smuggling 1 Kg of “Rain” Drug

Amritsar city police arrested a drug smuggler, Surjit Singh, alias Bittu, aged 40, of Bal Chander village, and seized 1 kg of the drug “Rain” from his possession. The arrest took place during a routine patrol in the Punjab Roadways workshop area.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation) RPS Sandhu, a police team intercepted the suspect and recovered the contraband during a search operation. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Division D police station.

Surjit Singh was presented in court and sent to police remand for further investigation. The authorities are probing both his backward and forward linkages to uncover the full scope of his involvement in the drug trade.
