In a significant operation, Ziro Police arrested a drug peddler named Amit Doley, recovering suspected heroin from his possession on Wednesday. The arrest follows a tip-off that Doley had arrived in Ziro, Hapoli from Assam with narcotics.
Acting swiftly on the information, a police team was formed under the leadership of SDPO O. Lego. The team, which included officers such as Insp. R. Borang and SI J. Doye, carried out extensive surveillance, employing both technical tracking and traditional policing methods.
The manhunt led to the identification of Doley’s whereabouts at Hotel Piisapu, Hapoli, where he was apprehended. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover more details regarding the suspect’s trafficking network.
