Amanda Porter Arrested for Impersonating Nurse at Burbank Hospital

Amanda Leeann Porter, 44, was arrested after impersonating a registered nurse and treating nearly 60 patients at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. Between April 8 and May 8, Porter used a stolen identity of a real registered nurse from out of state to gain employment at the hospital.

Porter worked at the hospital for a month, receiving paychecks and treating patients before hospital officials discovered the fraud and terminated her. Following her firing, Porter continued applying to other hospitals using stolen identities, leading to further investigations.

Porter was arrested on November 7, shortly after bonding out of jail for a similar impersonation crime at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Los Angeles. She now faces charges of identity theft, false impersonation, and grand theft. Authorities believe she may have committed other similar offenses across Southern California and continue to investigate.
