Alyissa Hawkins Arrested in Evansville on Drug Charges

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) — A woman previously involved in an undercover drug buy was arrested during a traffic stop on Thanksgiving Day in Evansville.

Evansville Police pulled over a driver at the intersection of Highway 41 and Bellemeade Avenue. The driver disclosed that the vehicle’s license plate may not be valid, he possibly didn’t have a license, and the car lacked insurance.

Officers noticed the passenger, 25-year-old Alyissa Hawkins, acting suspiciously, refusing to make eye contact and not providing identification. Upon further investigation, they discovered Hawkins had an active felony warrant and found a pen used for smoking THC wax.

Hawkins was arrested on charges of drug paraphernalia possession and for the outstanding warrant related to a February undercover buy of 2.5 grams of fentanyl. She faces a charge of dealing fentanyl.
