Allu Arjun’s arrest has sparked widespread discussions online, with celebrities and politicians expressing support for the actor. Recent reports indicate that the Telangana High Court has postponed the hearing of Allu Arjun’s petition to cancel the FIRs against him until December 21, 2023.
As reported by Hans India, the actor had requested the quashing of charges related to a tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at the Sandhya Theatre. However, the court previously stated that a quash petition was not appropriate at this stage and advised Allu Arjun’s legal team to seek bail instead. While the hearing has been delayed, the investigation continues, with Allu Arjun facing charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for his alleged involvement in the incident.
Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2023, in connection with the death of a woman during the chaotic premiere at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The woman’s husband, Bhaskar, filed a complaint against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management at the Chikkadpally Police Station. The police have charged the individuals under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the BNS.
Despite the arrest, the Telangana High Court granted Allu Arjun interim bail, allowing the actor temporary freedom while legal proceedings unfold. In the wake of these events, several prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry, including Pushpa 2 director Sukumar, actors Rana Daggubati, Pawan Kalyan, and Chiranjeevi, have visited the actor’s home in Hyderabad to offer their support to Allu Arjun and his family during this challenging time.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to perform exceptionally well at the box office. The movie has grossed over Rs1000 crores worldwide, surpassing other major films like Jawan, Kalki 2898 AD, and Stree 2, cementing Allu Arjun’s status as one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema.
