MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Deputies in Marlboro County have arrested Allen Platt after he allegedly attacked a person with a metal pipe and later posted the assault on social media.
The incident occurred on January 18 in the McColl area, where authorities say Platt and his victim got into a verbal altercation. During the argument, Platt struck the victim with a metal pipe and continued the assault as the victim attempted to flee. He then posted the attack on social media, according to the sheriff’s office.
Platt was arrested and found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a controlled substance at the time of his apprehension. He is currently being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
Platt faces multiple charges, including assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance.
