United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced the sentencing of Alisa See, a 39-year-old woman from Rapid City, South Dakota, to 22½ years in federal prison for her involvement in a drug conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. She was also sentenced to five years of supervised release and required to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
See, who was indicted in July 2023, pleaded guilty to the charges on October 25, 2024. Between 2022 and 2023, See participated in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation that involved transporting drugs from California to western South Dakota. She and a co-conspirator were responsible for distributing the meth to others for further distribution.
According to U.S. Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell, See was directly involved in distributing at least 30 pounds of methamphetamine in the region. “We are grateful to our law enforcement partners at UNET for their diligent work in exposing this drug conspiracy, allowing us to secure a federal conviction and impactful sentence,” said Ramsdell.
The Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET), which includes the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Rapid City Police Department, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and the South Dakota National Guard, led the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Hodges prosecuted the case.
Following her sentencing, See was immediately remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
