Aliquippa Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Drug Trafficking

Aliquippa, Pa. — Kijana Stephaun Lowe, a 27-year-old man from Aliquippa, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his involvement in a large-scale drug trafficking operation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania announced the sentence on Thursday.

Lowe was part of a drug trafficking organization targeted in a joint investigation by federal, state, and local law enforcement. According to court documents, recorded prison calls between Lowe and an inmate at a correctional facility in Phoenix, Arizona, revealed that Lowe was ordering kilogram quantities of cocaine and fentanyl. The drugs were then delivered through co-defendants, who supplied them to Lowe for distribution.

In November 2021, investigators learned that a large cocaine delivery was scheduled for Lowe in Pennsylvania. Law enforcement surveilled the Greyhound Bus Station in Pittsburgh, where two co-defendants arrived with suitcases. After meeting Lowe, they proceeded to a motel in Coraopolis, where Lowe took possession of one of the suitcases.

Upon detaining the individuals and executing search warrants, authorities found nearly 10 kilograms of cocaine in the suitcase and over $280,000 in cash in Lowe’s vehicle, which was intended for the drug purchase.

Digital evidence extracted from seized cellphones further confirmed Lowe’s involvement in the operation, revealing extensive communications and photographs documenting the trafficking scheme.

Lowe’s sentence serves as a reminder of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and law enforcement’s ongoing commitment to dismantling dangerous drug trafficking networks.
