RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — Alexis Wider, 30, has been charged with murder following a deadly shooting that took place on December 9, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Originally charged with attempted murder, Wider’s charges were upgraded to murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime after the victim, a man with at least one gunshot wound to his torso, succumbed to his injuries two days later.
Deputies responded to the 400 block of Percival Road shortly before 8 a.m. on December 9. After finding the victim, first aid was administered until EMS arrived, but the victim later died from his injuries. Authorities identified Wider as the suspected shooter and issued an alert for her vehicle.
Less than an hour later, deputies located Wider’s car and arrested her following a traffic stop. She is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
