Sanyogitaganj police arrested 22-year-old Ajay Khede on Saturday for stealing jewelry and cash from his aunt’s residence in Shyamacharan Shukla Nagar. On February 11, Sunita, a 35-year-old woman from the same area, filed a complaint after noticing that her gold pendants, a pair of silver anklets, and a sum of cash had gone missing from her house.
Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation and formed a special team. They reviewed CCTV footage and analyzed technical evidence from the crime scene and the surrounding areas. The investigation led the police to Ajay Khede, who is the woman’s nephew and resides in the same locality.
During questioning, Khede confessed to committing the theft, revealing that he knew exactly where the valuables were kept. The police recovered all stolen items, including two gold pendants, a pair of silver anklets, and Rs 49,000 in cash.
Ajay Khede was presented in court and subsequently sent to jail. The police continue to proceed with further legal actions as the investigation progresses.
