Ahmedabad Police Arrest Naresh Bishnoi with Rs 4.69 Lakh Worth of Mephedrone

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Zone-7 Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Ahmedabad Police arrested Naresh Bishnoi, a 24-year-old resident of Rajasthan, on Sunday. Bishnoi was found in possession of 46.94 grams of Mephedrone (MD), valued at approximately Rs4.69 lakh.

The arrest was made following a tip-off about the transportation of drugs into the city. The LCB team laid a trap in the Vasna area and intercepted Bishnoi, who was carrying the drugs, along with a mobile phone valued at Rs5,000. The total worth of the seized items amounted to Rs4.74 lakh.

A case has been filed against Bishnoi under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Vasna police station. Authorities revealed that Bishnoi had brought the drugs to Ahmedabad with the intention of selling them within the city.

“We are continuing the investigation to trace the source of the drugs and identify any other accomplices involved in this operation,” said a senior police officer. “The suspect had come to deliver the contraband to a person in the city, but our team intercepted him before the transaction was completed.”

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover potential links to larger drug trafficking networks and stop the spread of illegal substances in the region.
