Adarrius Clements & Kashaun Kearney Arrested for Bike Theft

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two men were arrested on February 27 after allegedly attempting to steal bicycles from Infinity Hall in Gainesville.

Adarrius Quanya Clements, 29, and Kashaun Kip Kearney, 29, were caught in the locked bicycle room of the building, where Clements was reportedly seen using a hammer to break locks, while Kearney appeared to be acting as a lookout, according to a witness.

Caught in the Act
A building manager heard loud banging noises and entered the room, where he allegedly saw Clements trying to smash bike locks. After being confronted, both suspects fled the scene.

Shortly after, a Gainesville Police Department officer spotted Kearney riding an e-bike with its serial number covered in spray paint, raising suspicions that it was stolen. Upon searching Kearney, officers found 10.1 grams of marijuana, a hammer, wire cutters, and two sets of garden shears.

Clements was later located, having reportedly discarded his backpack and jacket to avoid identification. The building manager identified both men as the individuals he confronted.

Prior Criminal Records & Charges
Clements, who was already out on bail for a January scooter theft, has an extensive criminal record, including 11 felony convictions (six violent) and four state prison sentences. He now faces burglary and possession of burglary tools charges. His bail was set at $25,000, and he remains in the Alachua County Jail.

Kearney, who has prior juvenile and adult convictions, faces burglary, possession of burglary tools, and marijuana possession charges. He was released on $9,000 bail.

Both men are awaiting trial. Authorities continue to investigate whether the e-bike in Kearney’s possession was stolen.
