Adam Kaleta Sentenced to 14 Years for Stabbing Neighbor

A 61-year-old man, Adam Witold Kaleta, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder for stabbing his neighbor during an argument. The sentencing took place at Hull Crown Court.

On April 27, police were called to a block of flats on Malm Street in Hull following reports of an attack. Officers found a woman in the street with three stab wounds to her back and arm. Despite her injuries, she was able to provide a description of her attacker to emergency services.

Armed officers subsequently entered Kaleta’s flat, where they discovered a knife covered in blood.

Detective Constable Jo Palmer stated, “Kaleta is a violent individual who targeted his neighbor in her own home with one motive – to cause her significant harm. Fortunately, the woman made a full recovery from her injuries, but this doesn’t take away the trauma and suffering she has had to live with since the attack. This will undoubtedly stay with her for the rest of her life.”

Palmer expressed relief that Kaleta is now incarcerated and poses no further risk to the community.
