Acting on a tip-off, Parsudih police apprehended Abid Khan, a resident of Keetadih Gadiwan Patti, on Monday night. The operation led to the seizure of 262.7 grams of brown sugar, valued at Rs30 lakh, along with Rs4,000 in cash. The arrest was made near Kendriya Vidyalaya in Parsudih, after officers observed suspicious activity.
Upon noticing the police, Khan attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. Initially, he tried to mislead the authorities by providing false identification.
Khan, who has a criminal history, including prior convictions for murder and arms-related offenses, has 12 active cases against him. Five of these are related to narcotics trafficking, with the majority filed at the Parsudih police station. Additional cases have been lodged at Sundernagar and Jugsalai, including three charges related to murder and arms violations.
The raid was led by DSP Taqueer Alam, with the help of Parsudih Officer-in-Charge Mohammed Faiz Ahmed, and Sub-Inspectors Arun Kumar and Ritesh Kumar. This successful operation underscores the commitment of Jamshedpur police in their ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crimes in the region.
