In a crackdown on local drug abuse, Hamirpur Police arrested a drug addict and seized a significant quantity of chitta (adulterated heroin) and capsules from his possession.
According to Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur, the accused, identified as Abhinav, is a resident of Ward No. 3, Pratap Nagar, in Hamirpur district. Police conducted a search at his residence and allegedly recovered 25.26 grams of chitta and 67.90 grams of capsules.
Following the seizure, a case was registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is ongoing to determine the source and possible links to local drug networks.
