Aberdeen Man Arrested After Narcotics and Firearm Found During Traffic Stop

Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis announced the arrest of 20-year-old Adrian Wright, who was pulled over in the Berkley community on June 7. During the traffic stop, officers discovered narcotics in plain view, leading to Wright’s arrest. A firearm was also found during a subsequent search.

Wright was initially charged with possession of a concealed firearm and possession of Schedule III substances. Additional unidentified contraband was sent to the NC State Crime Lab for analysis, and results received on October 3 confirmed the presence of methamphetamine. As a result, Wright now faces an additional charge of felony possession of Schedule II substances.

Wright was arrested and taken before a Moore County magistrate, with no immediate bond set, pending a judge’s decision.
