Abby Ballard Arrested for Attempted Vehicle Theft in Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville woman, identified as Abby Ballard, was arrested on Thursday after attempting to steal a vehicle, according to police.

The incident took place early Thursday morning on Lodge Avenue, when police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim’s car was missing. Authorities later located the vehicle parked two blocks away.

Ballard, who matched the description of the suspect, was found nearby and stopped by police. When questioned, she allegedly told officers, “I thought the car was mine” and “I thought someone left it for me.”

Ballard was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail, where she faces charges of auto theft.
