AAP Corporators in Surat Arrested for Corruption Allegations

In Surat, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) corporator and is searching for another in connection with a bribery case. The corporators, Jitendra Kachhadiya and Vipul Suhagiya, allegedly demanded Rs10 lakh from a pay and parking contractor to prevent the cancellation of his Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) contract.

During a routine inspection in the Magob area, the AAP corporators discovered that the contractor had encroached upon the adjacent vegetable market. Following this, they reportedly pressured the contractor for the bribe.
