A 32-year-old man from Horace, Jordan Wichman, was arrested for drug-related DUI following a reckless driving incident on October 20th. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Wichman was driving southbound on I-29 around noon when he abruptly swerved across all southbound lanes. His vehicle then veered into a ditch, continued through a DOT fence, and crossed 38th St. S.
Wichman’s car continued onto a business boulevard, where he sideswiped a tree, before pulling into a parking lot and driving into an adjacent construction field. In a bizarre turn of events, Wichman launched his vehicle off a dirt pile in the field, causing significant damage.
Authorities arrested him at the scene, and he was taken to Essentia Health before being charged with DUI-Drugs. The reckless driving led police to believe Wichman was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
