In the early hours of Sunday, October 20th, a man from Ecru and a woman from Blue Springs were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. According to a press release from the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department, the patrol division was conducting nighttime narcotics operations in the northern part of the county when they noticed an SUV pulling a trailer that lacked tail lights and brake lights.
During the traffic stop, officers spotted a marijuana cigarette on the center console of the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed approximately 26 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia.
The individuals arrested were identified as Kenneth McCain, 42, and Jessica Simmons, 38. Both have been charged with possession of a controlled substance—methamphetamine, with bonds set at $15,000. Additionally, McCain is being held by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
