Pendleton Man Jonathan Becker Charged Again for Police Impersonation

Becker Faces Multiple Charges, Including Unlawful Gun Possession

by Sophia Bennett

Jonathan Becker, a 24-year-old man from Pendleton, Indiana, was arrested again on October 25 for impersonating a police officer and unlawfully carrying a firearm. Becker, who has a history of posing as law enforcement, was located by the Indiana Crime Gun Task Force detective in a construction zone near East Washington Street, Indianapolis.

Authorities identified Becker’s white pickup truck with activated emergency lights resembling those of police vehicles. According to IMPD, Becker was observed exiting and re-entering the truck multiple times to stop traffic, dressed in a reflective shirt, with a radio and firearm strapped to his belt. Becker was promptly taken into custody, and his truck was impounded.

This incident is not Becker’s first. He was previously indicted for impersonating a public servant in September 2023 after attempting to pull over an IMPD sergeant in an unmarked vehicle. Becker has reportedly modified several cars to resemble Indiana State Police vehicles, with sightings dating back to 2019.

Additionally, Becker allegedly joined the procession for fallen Elwood Police Officer Noah Shahnavaz in August 2022 by mimicking a law enforcement vehicle.

Becker now faces multiple charges, including impersonation and unlawful gun possession.
