COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Seth Stires, a man with a lengthy history of theft charges and previously banned from all Walmart locations, was arrested on theft charges after an incident at a West Side Walmart.
On January 14, police responded to a theft report at the Walmart located on Georgesville Road near Interstate 270. According to court documents, 33-year-old Stires took two duffle bags and filled them with additional merchandise before attempting to leave the store without paying. Police reported the total value of the bags as $34.95, though the worth of the stolen items remains undetermined.
An investigation revealed that Stires had been formally banned from all Walmart locations after receiving a trespass notice on December 10, 2023, which he had signed and acknowledged. This ban was in place when he allegedly committed the theft.
Stires has faced numerous theft-related charges in the past, including crimes at various local stores like Kroger, Dollar General, and UDF, as well as a range of criminal offenses over the years. His latest arrest occurred on Wednesday, and although the case was dismissed in municipal court, it could be picked up in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, where Stires has an extensive criminal history.
