HOPKINS COUNTY, Texas — Two men from Sulphur Springs, Ricardo Munoz, 19, and Jermy Gomez-Tapia, 17, are in jail after stealing a dozen cattle and attempting to trade them for a pickup truck.
The cattle were reported missing from the 3600 block of FM 3236 on January 1. The Texas Cattle Rangers assisted in locating the stolen cattle in Delta County. Munoz and Gomez-Tapia were named as suspects and brought to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
Munoz confessed to stealing 20 cattle, with six sold in Delta County. Gomez-Tapia admitted to trading 15 cattle for a truck and a horse. Both men were arrested and booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
