Delhi Police’s Special Cell has successfully apprehended three individuals involved in the illegal trade of manufactured drugs containing psychotropic substances, including tramadol capsules and codeine syrup. This action is part of an ongoing effort to curb the trafficking of such drugs.
The breakthrough occurred on July 27, following a tip-off about a consignment of these drugs being delivered from Lucknow to Northeast Delhi. The police arrested Mohammad Anas, who was caught delivering eight cartons containing 1,53,600 tramadol capsules to Nivesh Kumar. Upon further investigation, two additional boxes with 288 tramadol capsules and Rs 2,92,000 in cash were recovered from Anas’s scooter.
The operation underscores the growing issue of drug trafficking in the city and highlights the police’s efforts to crack down on illicit drug trade operations. The arrested individuals are now under investigation, with authorities continuing to trace the supply chain of these dangerous substances.
