In a dramatic turn of events surrounding the Flora Max fraud case in Korba, the police lodged an FIR against the protesting women who blocked roads in the presence of Ministers Ramvichar Netam and Lakhan Lal Devangan. The protestors gheraoed the ministers, causing a heated argument between them and the demonstrators.
The situation has escalated as the administration takes stern action regarding the Flora Max Company fraud case. Local authorities sealed the offices of several microfinance banks operating in the district and made several arrests. The protestors, who blocked the road at ITI Tansen Chowk on Sunday, are currently being identified, with the FIR filed against them.
A press release from the district administration stated that ongoing complaints about financial irregularities led to an investigation into microfinance companies in the Katghora subdivision. Banks under investigation include LNT Bank, Annapurna Bank, Sissas Bank, Nafis Bank, and Spandana Bank. Offices of these banks were sealed under heavy police presence.
Pratap Rudra Sharan, a 22-year-old agent from Spandana Bank in Nawagaon, Katghora, was arrested for misbehaving with and extorting money from women investors. He was charged under sections 170, 126, and 135 (3) of the B.N.S and has been sent to jail.
