BOSTON, Mass. – Ji Li, 44, of Boston, was arrested on Friday after being accused of stealing a purse during the Allston-Brighton Toy Drive at the Corrib Pub in Brighton.

The incident took place on Sunday, Dec. 15, between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., when Li allegedly searched through patrons’ belongings and stole a purse. Police had released photos of the suspect earlier in the week, seeking the public’s help in identifying her. Li was apprehended by detectives around 1 p.m. on Friday while walking on Massachusetts Avenue near St. Botolph Street in the South End.

Li has been charged with larceny from a building and attempting to commit a crime. She is expected to appear for arraignment in Brighton District Court. As of now, it is unclear whether Li has obtained an attorney to represent her in this case.
