Keiko Muto, a 26-year-old woman from Kyoto’s Kamigyo Ward, was arrested by Saitama police on Tuesday in connection with a burglary resulting in injury. She is accused of acting as the financial coordinator for a yami baito (shady part-time job) operation linked to a violent burglary that took place on October 1 in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture.

Muto is said to have worked with the scheme’s mastermind, receiving stolen money and transferring it to accomplices involved in the crime. Additionally, a joint task force, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Police and authorities from Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama Prefectures, is investigating her possible involvement in a robbery and manslaughter incident that occurred the day before in Kokubunji, Tokyo.
