Five Men Arrested in Connection to 2023 Jardin De Flores Park Shooting

Three men face charges related to mass shooting; two arrested on drug charges

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Five men were arrested by Socorro Police on Tuesday, June 25, with three of them connected to the 2023 mass shooting at Jardin De Flores Park. The arrests were made in cooperation with the United States Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

The three men arrested for their involvement in the shooting are:

Cesar Caldera, 19 – Charged with four counts of aggravated assault (mass shooting), bond set at $600,000
Adrian Alejandro Rosales, 20 – Charged with four counts of aggravated assault (mass shooting), bond set at $600,000
Kevin Munoz, 20 – Charged with four counts of aggravated assault (mass shooting), bond set at $600,000
The shooting took place on September 6, 2023, at Jardin De Flores Park in Socorro, Texas, located at 253 Flor Margarita Blvd. Four people were injured in the incident.

Following the shooting, retaliation led to a second shooting in El Paso, which resulted in two fatalities, according to Socorro Police.

In addition to the three men arrested for the shooting, two others were taken into custody on unrelated drug charges:

Jesus Daniel Lara, 19 – Charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 2 (>=4G<400G), bond set at $35,000 Alejandro Fuentes-Lara, 20 – Charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 2 (>=4G<400G), bond set at $35,000 Chief of Police Robert Rojas noted the lengthy investigation, highlighting the challenges in obtaining cooperation: "This investigation took some time, and unfortunately, in incidents like this, those involved are often reluctant to cooperate with the police. Despite these obstacles, our detectives were able to identify and arrest those responsible for the shooting."

The arrests were made with the help of several law enforcement agencies, including the El Paso Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit, El Paso Police Department Gang Unit, and agencies affiliated with the West Texas Anti-Gang Center.
