8 Arrested in San Francisco Retail Theft Ring, Including Brandon McClain

San Francisco police arrested Brandon McClain, 18, along with seven other suspects, including a 12-year-old boy, for their involvement in a series of organized retail thefts across the city. The stolen goods amounted to over $84,000. McClain and the others are charged with burglary, robbery, grand theft, and organized retail theft.

The suspects are believed to be responsible for at least 23 thefts across San Francisco, including one violent incident at a Walgreens store where an employee suffered a serious head injury. McClain, the oldest of the group, was arrested and booked without bail.

The youngest member, a 12-year-old San Francisco boy, faces multiple charges, including assault and theft. The group allegedly forced entry into several stores, including a July robbery where they stole over $1,300 in merchandise, and a September incident where they brandished a firearm at a security guard.

The group’s crime spree spans several months and locations across the city. Juvenile suspects will be tried in San Francisco’s Juvenile Justice Center. Investigations are ongoing as police work to link the group to additional crimes.
