50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) took to Instagram on Tuesday night to troll Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) and Sean “Diddy” Combs. He posted an AI-generated video showing the two men being arrested and taken to jail, joking that the post made him “afraid” he might get “shot.”
The post came after Jackson’s comments about Jay-Z on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, where he asked, “Ok I don’t know what’s going on, but are we gonna still have the Super Bowl. 😟I’m just asking for a friend.” This remark appeared to reference Carter’s company, Roc Nation, which produces the Super Bowl halftime show.
In an interview with Big Boy on Monday night, Jackson laughed off his previous post, explaining that he was asking about headliner Kendrick Lamar, not criticizing Carter. Jackson also questioned the NFL’s potential desire to be associated with Carter, given the ongoing sexual assault allegations against him.
Further, Jackson remarked on a statement Carter had issued via Roc Nation’s social media channels, denying the accusations. Jackson described the statement as “combative,” suggesting it sounded more like something written by a lawyer than a publicist. However, Jackson did express hope that things were “alright for [Carter] internally,” considering Carter’s young children. He added that in today’s culture, people can be incriminated not for what they did but for what they’re accused of.
