5 Arrested for Public Murder in Asifnagar Revenge Killing of Mohd Qutbuddin

On Thursday night, June 13, the Asifnagar police arrested five individuals for their involvement in the brutal public murder of Mohd Qutbuddin on Asifnagar Road. The shocking killing, which was captured on mobile phones, has sent shockwaves through the city.

The police revealed that the murder was carried out to avenge the killing of Mujahed, the brother of the accused, who had been murdered by Qutbuddin in 2023. In an act of revenge, Syed Taher (27), Syed Imran (24), Syed Muzaffar, and their relatives Syed Aman and Shaik Jaweed plotted the killing of Qutbuddin.

According to Sneha Mehra, the DCP in charge of South West Hyderabad, Qutbuddin had killed Mujahed near a local bar in Asifnagar in 2023, which led to his arrest and subsequent jail time. However, Taher and his brothers were determined to take revenge.

On Thursday evening, the accused spotted Qutbuddin on Asifnagar Road and ambushed him in broad daylight. They chased him, attacked him with knives and sticks, and left him severely injured. Despite his wounds, Qutbuddin managed to flee to his elder brother Raheem’s shop, where he was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

The police quickly responded to the murder, and with the help of mobile phone footage, they were able to identify the perpetrators. Taher, Imran, Muzaffar, Aman, and Jaweed were arrested by the police under charges of murder and attempted murder.
