In the past 24 hours, police have confiscated 46.5 kg of Ganja, worth over Rs 5 lakh, from three individuals in Delhi. The police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the accused.
According to a police spokesperson, the narcotics were seized in Sector 58 on Wednesday after a police patrol intercepted a vehicle based on suspicion of drug peddling. The arrested individuals — Wasim, from Kosikalan village in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh; Babli Kaur, from Nangloi, Delhi; and Asha Kaur, from Tilak Vihar, Delhi — were found with the Ganja, which was packed in three plastic bags.
Investigations revealed that the accused had sourced the narcotics from Orissa and were planning to distribute them across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). While Babli Kaur and Asha Kaur have been sent to judicial custody, Wasim, the male accomplice, is currently on police remand for further investigation into the drug network and their operations.
