4 Arrested in Mullanpur Snatching Cases Stolen Items Recovered

In a swift crackdown on street crime, Mullanpur Garibdas police arrested four men in connection with three chain and earring snatching incidents in the area. Recovered from the accused were a pair of earrings, a stolen motorcycle, a scooter, and an auto-rickshaw used during the crimes.

Superintendent of Police Mohit Agarwal confirmed that a case (FIR No. 100, dated June 11) was registered at Eco City-2 Police Station under Sections 304(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following the theft of a gold chain and earrings.

Two of the accused, Mohan Giri and Vicky Giri, brothers from Sultanpur, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), residing as tenants in Pallanpur village, were arrested on June 11. During interrogation, they confessed to a second snatching committed the same morning near Alts Society. A separate FIR for this incident was registered on June 12, and both were remanded to police custody on June 16. A stolen bike and scooter used in the crimes were recovered.

In a separate snatching on June 15, two more suspects were arrested:

Santosh Kumar, a native of Pratapgarh (UP), and

Lalit Kumar, from Darbhanga (Bihar), residing near Sitla Mata Mandir and Dadu Majra respectively.

The police recovered the stolen earrings from Santosh Kumar, and an auto-rickshaw used in the crime from Lalit Kumar.

Authorities said further investigation is ongoing, with additional suspects possibly involved.
