The tragic death of 50-year-old Karanapu Suribabu in Gajularega, Vizianagaram, initially deemed suspicious, has been confirmed as a murder. Police investigations have revealed that Suribabu was killed by his 20-year-old son, Sai, due to a property dispute.
On the night of February 12, Suribabu was found dead at his home in Gajularega, with injury marks on his body. Initially, the case was registered as a suspicious death. However, the post-mortem report confirmed that it was a homicide. The police then reclassified the case under Section 103(1) of the BNS (murder).
Authorities suspected Sai’s involvement in the crime, and during questioning, he admitted to murdering his father. Sai explained that he had asked Suribabu to sell their house to solve some financial issues. When Suribabu, the property owner, refused, tensions escalated. The dispute led to a tragic decision by Sai, who decided to kill his father and inherit the property.
On the night of the murder, Sai offered his father liquor and then struck him in the chest and stomach, ultimately causing his death. Sai was arrested and presented before a magistrate, after which he was remanded in custody.
