Sunrise, Fla. — March 9, 2025 – A 16-year-old boy, identified as Joshua Wynter, was arrested after an SUV he was in crashed into a canal in Sunrise, Florida, on Friday. The incident occurred at an apartment complex near Oakland Park Boulevard when the vehicle drove off the road, hitting parking stops and grass before plunging into the water.
Four individuals were initially detained at the scene, but Wynter is the only one facing a felony charge for grand theft of a motor vehicle as of Saturday. It remains unclear whether additional charges could be filed against others involved in the crash.
