12 Arrested in Hubli Drug Bust; 1.365 kg of Ganja Seized

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Old Hubli Police arrested 12 men on Wednesday night for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of narcotics. The arrests were made following a raid at a run-down building in the P&T Quarters of Aravind Nagar, which had been identified as a hotspot for drug activity.

The individuals taken into custody include Abhishek Chalawadi, Furkhan, Mahamad Ayaz, Ismail Kaladagi, Jafar, Mahammad Sadhik, Roshan Soyeb (aka Babloo Kolar), Juber Pathan, Shanwaj Byahatti, Sohil Mulla, Salim Sulthanpur, and Kareem Fulthan. The suspects hail from different localities such as Godake, Ganeshpet, Ishwar Nagar, Anand Nagar, Sadarasopada, Ajmer Nagar, and Mehboob Nagar in Hubli.

Following a tip-off from concerned local residents, police raided the premises and discovered 1.365 kg of ganja, valued at Rs1 lakh, along with Rs2,000 in cash, three two-wheelers, and nine mobile phones.

A case has been filed at the Old Hubli Police Station, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details of the drug network involved.
